So much is happening, shifting, changing, coming to the surface. So much potential for growth and transformation. So much pain that is triggered, brought up, re-experienced, wanting to be dealt with, wanting to be avoided……. so many different blueprints for so many different people.
One of the oldest “us-versus-them” themes is men and women on opposite sides. I firmly belief that currently we are in one of the biggest shifts of that “reality” possible. However, that’s uncomfortable. Moving out of one stage into the next, is not always an easy one. It can get messy. And yes, messy is what we currently have.
Assault, dis-respect, rape, mansplaining, bullying, it’s all in our face right now. The question is – can we stick together and shift it? Again, my firm belief is that we can – AND it requires all parties to be involved to create the change we want to see. There are people who will be front-runners in this process and there will be people who are lagging behind. We all will have to do this at our own pace. And be at peace with that pace.
So I hope that we can be patient with each other and our processes. I hope we can be involved and engaged. Men: ask the women in your life how they are currently doing. (spoiler alert – most women are triggered by what is happening and that can be hard to share). It means the world to most women to have the men in their lives show their care, compassion and attempt at understanding. Women; engage with each other, support each other, and invite/allow your loved men into your process. Yes, that can be scary and uncomfortable, and there is always a gift waiting on the other side.
