I’m always having my eyes open to new ideas/systems/concepts to get to know myself better and from different perspectives. So, when I saw an invitation on Facebook by someone who was looking for “guineapigs” to do a genogram with/for, it peaked my interest.
I made an appointment and sat down with this lovely women and we went over what I knew about my family history. If you know me, you know I’ve been delving into my family system in many ways and for many years. So I was truly surprised – pleasantly – to experience how much it did for me to see that history all written down and acknowledged. From doing the genogram I went to doing a family constellation, and then before I knew it, I had signed up to take professional training to become a family constellation/systemic work therapist. Following my guidance!
In 2023 I became fully certified and in the process I’ve experienced and witnessed many amazing transformations, for myself and my clients. This work fits like a glove with the work I’ve been doing for the past 35 years – I find it a very worthwhile addition and enhancement. It’s been very rewarding to share this with my clients, we’ve been able to access different/deeper levels of awareness so things in people’s lives could change for the better. Epigenetic patterns that keep us stuck, can be seen and released in a gentle way, allowing for more of our authentic self to show up.
I use the tools both in person and through Zoom and find both ways very valuable. Whatever needs to be seen will come to the surface, like it is with my other work.
